It's difficult for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fail again.

Whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Some will argue the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it was a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you completely engage with the contest."

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and after that the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was out her side needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we are confident we can achieve it."

These statements will be the last competing nations at this World Cup need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she later said she wished she had played with the discomfort.
